Klebsiella granulomatis
Gram-negative bacillus.
Transmission
: Donovanosis is passed on by direct contact with lesions, usually during unprotected vaginal or anal sex (less commonly by oral sex) with an infected person.
Incubation period
: Usually from 1 to 16 weeks.
Infectious period
: For the duration of open lesions.
Case exclusion
: Do not exclude.
Contact exclusion
: Do not exclude.
Treatment
: Antibiotic treatment as recommended by the
